ELEMENTS:
500g bottle gourd
50g gram flour
6-7 garlic kernels
1 big onion thinly cut up
1 big tomato thinly cut up
3-4green chillies
Half coconut, grated
1 tsp cumin seeds
A pinch of cardamom powder
½ tsp cinnamon powder
1 cup yoghurt
Coriander leaves, finely chapped
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Method:
PEEL, WASH AND GRATE THE BOTTLE GOURD.
MIX IN THE GRAM FLOUR, SALT AND HALF OF THE CHAPPED ONOION.
Knead well and make small balls using the dough.
Deep fry these balls till they are golden brown in colour. Keep aside.
Grind together the grated coconut, garlic, cumin seeds and green chillies to a fine paste.
Heat oil in a skillet and sauté the remaining chopped tomatoes and sauté till they blend properly.
Mix in a little water, yogurt and salt and drop the deep fried gourd balls.
Bring the mixture to a boil and remove from heat.
G garnish with coriander, cinnamon powder and cardamom powder and serve hot.
